2013 Oscar Foreign Language Films: ‘Life Without Principle’

2012 Hong Kong Film Awards – Winners, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress.
2012 Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards – Winners, Film of Merit, Best Actor, Best Screenplay.

A crash course into Hong Kong’s tumultuous financial world, where desperate sales-target hungry local bankers meet confused gullible housewives, both in attempt to make more money from one another. Some small time crooks, and some small time cops, try to make a living. And stock markets collapsing. These things do happen in real life. So it should be quite ‘educational’; and, maybe sometimes unintentionally, hilarious in another perspective. In the end of the day, those loan sharks, gangster bosses, junk cardboard sellers and small restaurants always make more ‘real’ cash, right?

My Rating: 6/10
